Apple’s pursuit to launch the new iPhone 17s seems to be reaching its final stages as the brand completed the Engineering Validation Testing for at least one iPhone 17s, as per updates by a Digi Times report. The EVT stage involves Apple testing the iPhone 17 prototypes to ensure the hardware works as expected. Beyond this test, the phone still has to go through Design Validation Test and Production Validation Test..
These are routine tests, but are often done before the phone launches to ensure minimal glitches and issues. Even after testing, Apple can easily make changes if necessary. As per a recent revelation by Ming Chi-kuo, a new report has recently claimed that Apple would be taking the final decision on whether the new phone would include 8Gb or 12Gb RAM in the iPhone 17 base model by May. Supply chain analyst expect the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17Pro and iPhone Pro Max to be equipped with 12Gb of RAM at least.
iPhone 17s Screen to be Scratch Prone?
In a recent update it was revealed that Apple might be considering adding a scratch resistant layer to their new iPhone 17 pro models. It was a Weibo leaker Instant Digital which had revealed that Apple was working on a new anti reflective display layer. That could have been more scratch resistant than the ceramic shield. Beyond the updates we heard that Apple had plans to use the anti-reflective coating for the higher end iPhone 17 pro and the iPhoen 17 Pro max models. This could have made the phones the first iPhone with anti -reflective display.
As per reports, Apple ran into issues while scaling up the display coating issue and hence it has no tangible plans to offer the new iphones with anti reflective coating. The reports further detailed that the coating process could have slowed the production process down and hence it was cancelled.
The Current fingerprint resistant oleophobic coating, but Apple has not focused heavily on anti reflective technology. The Mac’s and iPad Pro have been offered with Nano Texture that cuts down the glare while the devices are being used. No such features would be brought to the iPhone now , it seems that the plans for the anti reflective coating have been scrapped completely.
