PM Modi, French President Macron Sign Deals, Paris To Host 10 Indian Startups, Support AI – Details Here

The outcome of their talks was France agreeing to host 10 Indian startups and the expanded use of India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in France, a joint statement read. Misri further underscored the bilateral talks were mainly focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), with March 2026 earmarked as India-France year of innovation.

AI Summit In Paris: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and France President Emmanuel Macron held significant bilateral talks on Wednesday. Their discussions were focused on several crucial sectors such as defence, health, space, civil nuclear corporation and people to people exchange. One of the notable results of the talks was France agreeing to host Indian Startups at the French start-up Incubator Station F.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, informed that PM Modi and Macron had discussions on board during their journey to Marseille via plane. Their talks were later extended upon landing where they were joined by larger delegations, Misri added. The outcome of their talks was France agreeing to host 10 Indian startups and the expanded use of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in France, a joint statement stated.

Misri further underscored the bilateral talks were mainly focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), with March 2026 earmarked as India-France year of innovation. The leaders also announced the inauguration of grand event in New Delhi next year with launch of its Logo. A letter of intent was signed on Advanced Modular Reactor (AMR), Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and the Implementing Agreement between India’s GCNEP, DAE and France’s INSTN, CEA for cooperation in the training and education of nuclear professionals.

Additionally, a letter of Intent was issued between the Dept of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India (GoI) and France’s Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA), to establish the Indo-French Center, as per a release from the MEA. Both the leaders welcomed the 1st meeting of the Special Task Force on Civil Nuclear Energy. As the talks concluded, PM Modi and French President Macron expressed satisfaction with the current collaboration in various fields, including culture, health, education, tourism, etc.
