The impacted cases include 12-packs of 12-ounce aluminum cans, totaling 1,557 cases of Sprite, 417 cases of Diet Coke, and 14 cases of Fanta Orange, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Consumers are advised to inspect their soda cans for specific lot numbers and UPC codes. The recall involves Diet Coke 12-packs with lot numbers JAN2924MBD3 and UPC 49000028911, Fanta Orange 12-packs with lot numbers UL2924MBD3 and UPC 49000030730, and Sprite 12-packs with lot numbers JUL2924MBD3 and UPC 49000028928. The affected Fanta and Sprite cans have a best-by date of July 29, 2024, while the specified Diet Coke cans have a best-by date of January 29, 2024.
Currently, it is unclear what the “foreign material” is and whether it poses any risks to consumers.
